Blessed!!

If you are reading this you either saw my post on Facebook or have heard about it in some other way. Our story for this season of life begins like this; this past August I noticed that my right breast was getting larger then my left. I didn't think much of it in that this is fairly common to have one side larger than the other. Latter as time passed I started to notice a little bit of my skin starting to thicken. I asked my Doc at that time, she did a physical exam. Given my age and there no symptoms that she felt to be of concerned we passed it off as nothing to be concerned with. Jump ahead to a few weeks ago and I was starting to be very concerned. I was able to get in to have a mammogram and ultrasound. During that imaging, I noticed them taking a lot more images of my right side, and up into my armpit area. At the end of the visit the radiologist came in and asked if I had someone with me to hear the results with. I told them that, "Yes, my husband was out in the waiting room". I looked at Matt as he walked in with a kind of "what" look and the radiologist began talking, with his hands folded and his gaze down he began," I am really sorry to have to tell you this but it doesn't look good. It’s never easy having to tell folks this but we are recommending that you get a biopsy done. We found an abnormal lymph node and micro calcifications in your right breast." "What does this mean"? I ask him. "Well it means you have a 95% chance of having breast cancer". Matt and I looked at each other and both said, "Ok, what’s next". We didn't automatically go to the worst thought but thought about what was the next step going to be, what did that look like, and when would that happen. Soon enough I had my appointment scheduled for the biopsy. The day came and I went in with a lot of nerves. They did both a biopsy of my lymph node with the help of an ultrasound machine and of the affected tissue with the help of the mammogram machine. I am not going to lie, on the last part I passed out, it was very intense. The wait for the results was torcher. It happened on that Thursday and I waited until Tuesday to get them.
I read the report and didn't understand it but could tell it wasn't good. I spoke with Dr. the next morning and she told me that it was positive for cancer in both the lymph node and the tissue that they had taken. I have stage 3 breast cancer. I couldn't breathe, I mean I know that breast cancer is one of the more known cancers and that it has a higher recovery rate. But this isn't happening, this isn't real. My heart sank as my mine flooded with the what if's. My baby is 4, only 4, would he remember me? My girls they needed me to be there for all that they are going through and will go through. Someone to help them on their wedding day, or if they ever get asked to go to a dance. My boys, my sweet boys. No, no this is not happening.
Ok so I had a very human moment there. That’s ok, that's allowed. Now it’s time to get my game face on. I am going to beat this, it’s going to be an ugly year but with my God with me and an unbelievable about of support from all thoughts around me I can do this. We spent the day as a family, talking with the kids and enjoying creating memories.
I had a breast MRI on Monday and the results from that came back great. Nothing new and nothing in the left breast. I have my CT scan tomorrow, they will be focusing on my origins. On Thursday, the 6th I have my full body bone scan, and after that on the 10th I will be meeting up with my Oncologist to talk about what Chemo I will be starting. The plan so far is Chemo, then a double mastectomy, then radiation. 1 yr. form the last day of radiation I will have reconstructive surgery. I haven’t stopped praying that God would use me to be His instrument in all of this. His timing is perfect, Matt's parents are here for the entire month of May and were planning on it well before I found about my cancer. We are adding on to our home and they are here to help. Yes, we are still going forward with the addition. In addition to that the entire month of April has been a hard month. We have had several vet visits and learned that Matt will need to receive back surgery.
I refuse to give up, I know I may have low days, but I will keep my faith.

Endurance, Perseverance, Hope...

As many of you know, our two oldest children were blessed with the opportunity to go to the Diamond J Rodeo Camp. This is their second year, but it feels like it has been a life time. I was really hoping and praying that I would be able to go and was thinking that I was going to have to miss is this year. It brings so much joy to not only to our children but to me. I leave there filling filled with the Holy Spirt. The relationships you gain while there are lifelong ones. I truly consider them family. That all being said I was able to go and the girls grew in both their rodeo skills as in the relationship with Christ. God truly has a way of speaking through people and there were many times that I felt that He was speaking directly to me. On the last night, Pastor Al had asked us to close our eyes in preparation to pray, then said, " Now look at yourself" I did, and to my surprise I saw a beautiful version of myself. I thought to myself this must be how God sees me. I...

With Hannah's help we came up with a very fun head cover. The second week is much better and I feel much more like myself and can do more things. Hailey Marie Harvey!!!

Hailey Marie Harvey Daddy, Hailey, and Mommy Sisterly Love (Emma and Hailey) Smiley Little She is here, and we are in love. She arrived at 3:40pm on Monday October 19,2009, by c-section. It when great Matt got to be apart of the whole thing. It was so awesome to hear her take that first cry. Matt was able to watch the whole surgery and then got to cut the umbilical cord. We did so well we even got to go home a day early. The worst part of the whole thing was that we couldn't have visitors given the H1N1 (piggy flu) is ever so prominent, and the day that we left was difficult because Emma could not come close to the mommy baby section of the hospital given her age, so we had to juggle to get the kid, myself, and all of our stuff t...
